Preservation Alert: Office Complex on Forsyth Park to be Reviewed at HPC

Dear Friends,

We bring you this message on behalf of the Forsyth Park Community Alliance (the “FPCA”).

A  large up-to-five story private commercial office complex on Forsyth Park at Whitaker and West Park Ave. will be reviewed for compliance with the height and mass provisions of the Victorian Historic Overlay next Wednesday March 26, 2025, at 2 PM at the Historic Preservation Commission at 112 East State Street.

The FPCA opposes this project and urges you to attend the hearing and or write a short email to Jonathan Mellon at the MPC. His email is mellonj@thempc.org. You do not need to live in the Victorian District to express an opinion. A sample letter is below.

Re: Opposition Letter to Forsyth Office Building

Dear HPC,

I object to the proposed height and mass of the office building. The height and mass do not comply with either the Visual Compatibility Standards or the Design Standards of the Victorian Historic Overlay.
